Funeral services for Lester R. "Les" Fooken, 92, of East Moline, IL, will be 4:00 pm Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 pm prior to services. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Mr. Fooken died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Les was born April 8, 1924, in Carthage, IL, the son of Ommo and Helen (Leenerts) Fooken. He married Theresa (Bollaert) McNeal November 27, 1975, at Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, IL. He worked for Montgomery Elevator for over 40 years retiring from Kone. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Fooken, East Moline; children, Cindy (Brian) Akre, Muskegon, MI, Rebecca McNeal, Portland, ME, James (Deborah) McNeal, Atlanta, GA, Kathleen (James) Trefethen, Belfast, ME, and Susan (Douglas) Voltz, Geneseo, IL; grandchildren, Shane Fooken, Daniel Kempton, Scott (Jill) McNeal, Matthew (Tiffanie) McNeal, Jessica Dickey, Katherine (Clayton) Tolman, Elizabeth Dickey, Ryan Trefethen, Megan Trefethen, Kyle Voltz, Saralyn Voltz, and Elizabeth Annin; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nadine; sons, Paul (Joyce) Fooken, Thomas McNeal, and Daniel McNeal; brother, Arland Fooken.
