Lillian Kusy, 97, of Huntley, IL, formerly of East Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Journey Care Hospice, Barrington, IL.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am to 11:30am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 Sixth Street, East Moline.  It will be followed by a graveside service at 12:00pm (noon) at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.

Lillian was born on August 13, 1928, in Moline, the daughter of Frederick and Addie (Hummer) Littlewood.  She was the youngest of six children, three boys and three girls. She was educated in East Moline schools and in high school found a love for music by joining the senior choir.  There she met her loving husband Paul Kusy of 64 years.  Paul and Lillian were married on April 26,1947 and had a daughter Paula. Lillian worked as a secretary for State Senator Muhleman.  She enjoyed classical music, reading, word puzzles, traveling, gardening, and birdwatching, especially her hummingbirds.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Paula (Lee) Ekstrom; grandchildren, Tara (Jon) Shinnick and Erik (Julie) Ekstrom; and great grandchildren, Benjamin Shinnick, Andrew and Jacob Ekstrom.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kusy; parents; siblings, Fred Littlewood, Robert Littlewood, and Alberta Honeyman; and half siblings, Darlene Taylor, Lowell Cook and her partner Fredrick Young.
