Linda Ann Gooding Sullivan, 80, Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Unity Point Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services are 1:30 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Hampton Cemetery. Visitation is 12:30 until service time.

Linda was born on October 28, 1938 in Moline, the daughter of Ellis and Wilma (Miller) Gooding. She graduated UTHS class of 1956, and received her Bachelor of Science in Education, with emphasis in English in the spring of 1963 from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Linda married Dennis Sullivan on November 18, 1961 and together they had 3 children. Linda taught for the Antioch School District before becoming a secretary at Deere & Co. Administrative Center for nearly 25 years, retiring in 1997. She loved the theater, acting in many productions, through high school, college and with community theater into the 1990's. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, needle point and cross stitch. Linda's greatest joy was her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow.

Survivors include her children: Beth Oerman, Moline, Erin (Dave) Schmitt, Aurora, and Andrew Sullivan, Aurora; grandchildren: Ashley Oerman, Moline; Troy, John, and Tess Schmitt all of Aurora, brother Alan Gooding, Sycamore, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Nelda Pollner, Guelda Reynolds, Bud Gooding, and Ansel Gooding.
