Linda Sue Lippert, 62, of East Moline, IL, formerly of Batavia, IL, accepted God's invitation to Heaven, January 12, 2014. She died peacefully at home with her husband and children by her side after an 18 month battle with brain cancer. A private service to consign her to the Lord was held at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline prior to cremation. Linda Sue Sloggett was born December 26, 1951 in Aurora, IL, the first child of John and Shirley Sloggett of Batavia, IL. She graduated from Bativia High School. Linda Sue was united in marriage to Blaine A. Lippert of Aurora, IL on October 9, 1971, after getting engaged in 10 days and married in 3 months. They joyfully renewed their wedding vows in Hawaii on their 29th anniversary, and were blessed with over 42 wonderful years of marriage. Known as "Sue" to almost everyone, she was a wonderful and loving wife, terrific mother and grandmother. She was a great homemaker and cook, who enjoyed her family the most. During the children's school years she liked to attend their music(trumpet) events and their athletic contests. She was a Brownie leader and room mother. Sue loved being "Grannie" with her grandchildren. "Sweet Sue" took care of everybody and her various employers benefited from her terrific people skills. She enjoyed decorating and her default television channel was HGTV. She is survived by her husband Blaine Lippert, East Moline; children(and spouses) Kristi (David) Mumma, Silvis, IL and Jeff (Amy) Lippert, Marion,IA; grandchildren Jordan, Collin, Brandon and Hallie Lippert in Marion, and Megan and Grace Mumma in Silvis; siblings Harryette (Keith) Whittlinger, Penfield,NY; John (Mary Phyl) Sloggett,Jr., Forest, IN and Dean (Mary Beth) Sloggett, Peoria, AZ, and her parents. She had a very special bond with "sister" Beth. As a child Sue had a paper route and then helped in her father's insurance office. She worked at Jostens Rings, St. Charles, IL, and First National Bank of Geneva, IL before becoming a mother. She babysat other kids in her home, sewed, stuffed envelopes and baked her secret recipe cookies for Scooper's Ice Cream and Lew's Drive-in Batavia. When her children were in school, she taught Jazzercise, worked at a specialty light company in Batavia and then Press-A-Lite in West Chicago. She got her real estate license and worked for 16 years for ReMax in the Tri-Cities, Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles, IL as manager of big producing offices, primarily for Mary Kay Coleman. In the Quad-Cities she worked for Mel Foster Realtors in Davenport, IA for one year and then worked 7 years for Ameriprise Financial Advisor Keith Judickas in Moline, IL until the brain cancer diagnosis.
