Lisa Martin was born October 9, 1976, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Albert and Bertha Alicia Alejo Martin. Through Lisa's time at Seton Catholic School in Moline and homeschooling in San Diego, she blossomed into a talented poet and a courageous young woman with a passion for natural health care. After the passing of her father, she moved to San Francisco to study herbal medicine where she obtained her certificate.
She married Todd Leisek in 2002 and welcomed their son, Ian Leisek, into their lives a few years later. She set aside her personal goals to take care of her son and work part-time to help support her family.
She was a loving mother, a talented jewelry maker, and a respected member of her community and church. In the last two years of her life, a renewed knowledge and love of Jesus bloomed in her heart.
Survivors include her son, Ian Leisek, Duluth, MN; her mother, Alicia Martin, East Moline; siblings, Brother Gabriel Martin, Denver, CO, and Karina (Evan) Brankin, Oshkosh, WI; nephews, Anthony, Martin, and Ignatius Brankin; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Evan Martin.
