Lois E. Hillyer, 88, formerly of East Moline, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Aspen Care, Silvis. At Lois' request her body will be cremated and the family will have private services at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Macomb Public Library, the Carthage, IL VFW or the Hancock County Courthouse. Lois Harwick was born on November 29, 1924 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Manson and Zelma (Goodrich) Harwick. She married LaVerne Hillyer on May 5, 1945 in Macomb. Lois enjoyed sewing and doing crafts, and in earlier years, remodeling properties. Among survivors are her children, Gerald (Gale) Hillyer, Friendship, WI, Becky (Ronald) Kern, Davenport and Angela Angelo, Dallas TX, nine grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and her sister Pauline Eddington, Macomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Richard, grandson Chad, her parents and her siblings.
