Funeral services for Lois Imogene "Jean" McHie, 88, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. McHie died Tuesday June 13, 2017 at her home. Jean was born July 7, 1928 in Union County, IL. She married William A. McHie II August 14, 1954, in Hammond, IN. He died November 17, 1989. She worked for Christ United Methodist Church, ARA Home Health Care, and most recently she worked at Winnie's Place (domestic violence shelter of Churches United). She touched so many lives and will be remembered as an active volunteer at Christ United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and at Winnie's Place. Survivors include her children, William A. (Betty) McHie III, Bloomington, IL, Nancy (Kim) VanVoltenburg, East Moline, Jennifer McHie, Moline, and Merry (John) Leyendecker, Carbon Cliff, IL; grandchildren, Willy McHie, Andrea (Aaron) Scheiwe, Kyle VanVoltenburg, Jacob (Maddy) Suter, Justin (Lauren) Suter, Katherine Suter, Sarah (T.J.) Ricke, Alex Ricke, and Samantha (Caleb) Webster; great grandchildren, Abigail, Asher, Alexander, Layla, Jorden, and Mylee Jo; sisters, Judy (Paul) Smith, Waterloo, IL, and Ruth Ann (John) Graves, Columbia, IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Ussery and her husband. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or Churches United for the benefit of Winnie's Place.
