Obituary

Lori A. Kissell, 50, of Colona, IL, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, surrounded by her family following a long courageous battle with cancer.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation was accorded. Arrangments were entrusted to Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Her family will host a Memorial Celebration of Lori's life at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Heritage Church, 4801 44th St., Rock Island, IL, with visitation prior from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the church.  Memorials may be made to the family for her children's education fund or to the American Cancer Society.

Lori was born January 18, 1974, in East Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Larry and Katherine Raymond Kissell. She graduated from UT High School, and attended Black Hawk College and St. Ambrose University.

Lori was a claims coordinator for Katun Corp, Davenport, IA, for 27 years.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, hunting for treasures at yard sales and Goodwill. Her pets and animals had a special place in her heart. Lori's favorite times were those spent with friends and family, especially her children whom she loved and adored. She had said her kids were the best thing she had ever done, and they would say, Lori was "the best Mom ever!"

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Katherine "Katie" Maloy and Connor Maloy, both of Colona; fiancé, Scott Gomez, Colona; mother, Katherine Kissell, Silvis, IL; siblings, Paul (Samantha) Kissell, Eldridge, IA, Christopher "Chris" Kissell, Silvis, IL, and Camie Kissell (Brydon) Sanders, Silvis; maternal grandmother, Mary Raymond, Rock Island, IL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her children's father, James "Chris" Maloy, Carbon Cliff, IL.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Larry; paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Kissell; and maternal grandfather, John Raymond.
