Lorraine Marie Noel, 89, Silvis, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Funeral services are 11 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Research. Lorraine was born May 12, 1922 in Moline, the daughter of Cesar and Elvera (Churchill) Willems. She married Wilbur Hoffman on October 18, 1941 in East Moline. He died March 11, 1967. She married Richard Noel on July 18, 1970 in Moline. He died February 25, 2002. Lorraine had worked at the former Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Moline. She was an exceptional baker who was known for baking wedding cakes and mints. Lorraine spent many nights knitting Afghans for the those she loved. Survivors include her son Jim Hoffman, Silvis, granddaughter Megan Hoffman, Newport, CA and sisters, Eleanor Jorgesen, Moline and Mary Ann Fanning, Davenport. In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her son Jerry, her parents and brother, Maurice Willems.
