Louis E. Thiele, 80, Moline, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Hope Creek, East Moline. Funeral services are 11 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Louis was born February 1, 1935 in East Moline, the son of Albert and Helen (Bishop) Thiele. He married Donna Nelson on May 31, 1958. He worked for 43 years for John Deere, retiring in 1996 from Davenport works. Cars were a lifelong passion for Louis, from racing at Cordova as a young man to collecting and repairing them as a senior. He served in the US Army Reserves until 1963. Survivors include his wife Donna, children, Dawn Euting, Simi Valley, CA, Timothy (Lori) Thiele, Davenport, and Todd (Lynn) Thiele, Moline, and grandchildren; April, Heather, Callie, Justin, Hannah and Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Laverne Thiele and Jane Kettler.
