Louise O. Vendl, 92, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Forest Hill Health and Rehab Center, East Moline. Private services will be held at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association. Louise Oliphint was born February 28, 1916 in Williamson County, TN, the daughter of Willard and Clatie (Brown) Oliphint. She married Thomas Vendl May 9, 1942 in Chicago, IL. While living in Chicago, she had worked as a secretary in the offices of the Sears Roebuck and Company. They moved to the Quad Cities in 1960, when International Harvester Company transferred Thomas. She enjoyed club work and belonged to various clubs and organizations. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and all kinds of handwork. Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Stone of St Louis, MO, Karen and Steve Lee of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren (spouse), Julie (Steve) Kauffmann and Melissa (Ty) Lee-Tammeus, Nathan (Dawn) Lee, Jason Lee ; great grandchildren, Jaclyn Kauffmann, Thomas Kauffmann, and Brock Tammeus.
