Obituary

Lucille B. England, 89, Moline, formerly of East Moline, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Visitation is 2-5PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the building fund at Grace Baptist Church, Moline, where she was a long time member. Lucille was a WWII Navy Veteran. She took her training at Hunter College in New York City. She was transferred to Washington D.C. where she worked in the Naval Code and Signal Lab until the end of the war. She returned to Moline and worked for several years in the office of John Deere Plow Co. Lucille Brokaw was born November 11, 1922 in Hanna Township, IL, the daughter of Roy and Cleora (Ingram) Brokaw. She married J. Ward England on October 16, 1944 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He died February 21, 1988. She liked reading, puzzles and being with her friends at Paulsen Manor. Survivors include her three sons and their spouses, Brad and Vickie England, Springfield, MO, Corey and Debbie England, Milan and Jay and Nancy England, Moline, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a brother Roy Brokaw, Fort Wayne, IN and a sister Gladys Reeser, Colona. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister Mae Clark. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
