Funeral services for C. Lucille Fonteyne, 85, East Moline, IL, will be 9:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mrs. Fonteyne died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Lucille was born June 7, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Hugh and Irene Fry Phelps. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Iowa City, Iowa, in 1944. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing rolle bolle. She had been a Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Notre Dame fan. She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she had been an active member. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Raldo Fonteyne of East Moline; daughter, Nancy (Ralph) Hayes, East Moline; sons, Steve (Sue) Fonteyne, Geneseo, IL, Harry (Jane) Fonteyne, East Moline; Jim (Patti) Fonteyne, Tipton, IA; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
