Lucille Lois Richardson (Cathlyn), affectionately known as Lucy to many and Granny to most, passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 94 in East Moline, Illinois, in her home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Friday July 19, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.

Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11AM until service time at the funeral home.

Lucy's life was marked by a vibrant passion for dancing, a hobby she cherished throughout her life. She spent her professional years at Quad Cities Downs, contributing with dedication. Beyond her work, Lucy had a loving presence, often found at the American Legion where she met her beloved husband, Walter Richardson. She remained stylish, always ensuring her hair was immaculate, and had a fondness for caramel frappes from McDonald's, a treat she enjoyed at any time of the day. She was an excellent seamstress and made several wedding dresses over the years. Lucy was an enthusiast and enjoyed scrapbooking, which allowed her to preserve precious family memories. Lucy also loved spending time on Facebook looking at everyone's pictures. She cherished moments sitting outside with her sisters, engaging in long conversations about varied topics. She is survived by her loving children, Kathy Hasson of Silvis, Bill (Theresa) Richardson of Arkansas, Paul Richardson of Tennessee, Randy (Debbie) Richardson of Arkansas, and Jim Richardson of Florida; sister Catherine Maddox. Lucy was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Richardson; her parents, Theophil and Alice Dondth Cathelyn; sisters, Dollie, Delores; and brother, Camille. Her legacy of liveliness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
