Lucy DeLaRosa, 81, of the East Moline area, passed away Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Silvis where she was a member. The Mass will be live-streamed 11:30AM Monday January 18, 2021 at https://www.facebook.com/VanHoeFuneralHome/

Interment is at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Lucy was born July 22, 1939 in Moline, a daughter of Librado and Mary (Moreno) DeLaRosa. She married Jose C. Tapia in 1958. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, daughter, Anna Phelps; brothers, Joe and Manuel; and a sister, Teresa.

Survivors include 8 children: Rose Tapia, Moline, Melinda (Rick) Jimenez, Davenport, Joe Jr. (Yolanda) Tapia, Jacksonville, FL, John Glenn (Candice) Tapia, Colorado Springs, CO, Lisa Anderson, Davenport, Mark (Laura) Tapia, East Moline, Valerie (Sam) Benjamin, Davenport, Troy (Chocos) Tapia, East Moline; numerous, (too many to count) grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Pizano, Moline, Rita Williams, Moline; brothers, Leo (Jamie) DeLaRosa, Silvis, and Chuck (Koleen) DeLaRosa, Hampton.

Lucy retired as a supervisor with Smith Filter in Moline. She loved the Virgin Mary, her dog, Mijo, and spending time with her family.
