Funeral services for Luis D. Ramos, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Ramos died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his home. Memorials may be made to family. Luis was born August 25, 1925 in Rio Medina, TX, the son of Pablo and Gertrude Delgado Ramos. He married Maria Olga Sanchez April 23, 1948. He retired from John Deere Harvester East Moline August 31, 1987, after 24 years of service. He was a wonderful singer and guitar player. He had his own band, Los Brillantes, which brought his own Texas style to the Quad Cities. He had also been the Spanish Choir Director at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Maria Ramos, East Moline; sons, Jose L. (Benita) Ramos,East Moline, Rolando Ramos (Letty Garcia), Moline, and Jorge (Carol) Ramos, Moline; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Amelia (Jose) Villarreal, Lansing, MI; brother, Jose (Paula) Ramos, East Moline. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Anna Maria Ramos, sisters, Sara, Delfina, and Trine, brothers, Fructoso, Adan, and Tino. The family would like to thank Dr. Konda and his staff, Dr. Dadhaniya and his staff, Trinity Hospice, and Bills Mechanical Services for all that they did for Luis and his family.
