Lula Henson, 67, Davenport, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Genesis East, Davenport. Funeral services are 12 PM Wednesday at Mt. Zion Church, East Moline. Burial is in Hampton Township. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time at the church. Lula was born, April 1, 1950 in Itta Bena, MS, the daughter of Bill and Amorgen Clayton. She married Samuel L Long Sr. and together they had 5 children. She later married Robert Starks and settled in Davenport. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time with family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was loved by many. Survivors include her husband Robert, children, Samuel L Long Jr., Davenport, Adlene Annette Henry, TX, Glen Elliot Long, IA, Darwin Fanta Long, Silvis and Vernon Lewis Long, Davenport, fourteen grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Siblings are Louise Ollie, Maxine Wilkins, Marilyn Palm, Alice Clayton, Andre Clayton and Barbara Carol Clayton. She was preceded in death by her father Bill Clayton, mother Amorgen Clayton, first husband Samuel Sr., and siblings, CB Henson, Lola Davis, Jason Clayton, Jessie Lee Clayton, Eloise Clayton, and Johnny Clayton.
