Mabel L. Barber, 89, East Moline, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at Aspen Health and Rehab, Silvis. Private family services will be held at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mabel Grimsley was born April 29, 1919 in Rockport, IL, the daughter of William and Bertha Keith Grimsley. She married William Barber in Louisiana, MO. He preceded her in death. Mabel had done in home health care for many years. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Survivors include her children and spouses Carole and Hurley Sutton, East Moline, Guy and Brenda Barber, Silvis, and Jim and Janet Barber, Mechanicsville, IA, eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter and a sister Lucille Ward, Rushville, IL.
