Obituary

Mae L. Gottwalt, 89, of Carbon Cliff, IL, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at her home. Visitation will be 3-5 pm Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend should wear face coverings and respect social distancing. Funeral services will live-streamed 10am Wednesday February 3, 2021 by logging into http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Mae Radford was born May 11, 1931, in Mulbery, KS, the daughter of Glen and Edith (Akins) Radford. She married Leander "Lee" Gottwalt November 26, 1949, in Moline, IL. He died June 19, 2019. Mae was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and babysitting. She loved children and babies. Survivors include her children, Lea Ann (Dan) Gomez, Colona, Cynthia (Dave) Strong, West Branch, IA, Paul (Rheta) Gottwalt, East Moline, Mary Beth (Carl) Brandom, Colona, Joe (Cleone) Gottwalt, Iowa City, IA, and John (Christine) Gottwalt, Moline; 17 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Gentile, Ozark, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Gottwalt; grandchildren, Justin Gottwalt and Joshua Brandom; great granddaughter, Charolette Stebens; 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
