Manuel Lopez Sr., 87, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 after a brief illness. Funeral services are 11 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3PM. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church, where he was a devoted member. Manuel was born on June 26, 1929 in Leon, GTO, Mexico, the son of Domingo and Maria (Guerra) Lopez. He married Marjorie Reyna on July 10, 1954 in Silvis. He retired in 1990 from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He enjoyed playing the guitar, watching westerns, and dearly loved his time spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marjorie, children; Manuel Lopez Jr., Bettendorf, James (Teri) Lopez, Del Rio, TN, Rose (Manuel) Hernandez, San Diego, CA, Paul (Billie) Lopez, Helena, AL, Rita (Jeff) Loftin, East Moline, and Francisco Lopez, St. Paul, MN, sixteen grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and siblings; Cuca, Elena, Guadalupe, Aurora and Catalina, all of Mexico.
