Marcella Hunt, 86, Silvis, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
Marcella Degraer was born on December 19, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Marcel and Zoe (VanSteenkiste) Degraer. She married John Hunt on April 24, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Marcella was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and parish secretary for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. Marcella enjoyed cross-stitch, bowling, and playing cards with family. She and John enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Minnesota. Marcella was an excellent care giver for her husband.
Survivors include her husband, John, daughter, Therese Hunt, San Diego, CA and brother Robert (Millie) Degraer, Monroe, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David and sister Gabriella Maertens.
