Funeral services for Margaret H. DeDecker, 87, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:00AM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home. Committal services will be 9:00AM Monday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend should be at the funeral home by 8:30 AM Monday. Mrs. DeDecker died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. Margaret Eggerichs was born March 4, 1926 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frederick and Hermina Feldman Eggerichs. She was raised in East Moline and Carbon Cliff, IL and graduated from United Township High School Class of 1944. She married Henry L. DeDecker November 27, 1947 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. She was a loving homemaker. After her children were raised, she worked at the former Colona Avenue State Bank, East Moline for 12 years. She enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband. She was a talented seamstress, making clothes for all her children, including wedding and bridesmaid dresses for her daughters. She loved to bake, garden, and have daily coffee with the neighborhood ladies for their "therapy." Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Henry DeDecker, Silvis; daughters, Jan (Jerry) Fisher, Roscoe, IL, Mary (Paul) Bechtold, Charlotte, NC, and Julie (Craig) Mumma, Silvis; sons, Jon (Nancy) DeDecker, Coal Valley, IL, and David DeDecker, Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Erik and Mark Fisher and Andrea and Kameron DeDecker. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George, Fred and Herman Eggerichs.
