Obituary

Funeral services for Margaret "Cookie" DeJaegher, 87, of The Lighthouse, Silvis, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 1:00 PM Monday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30 PM. Mrs. DeJaegher died June 29, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis IL. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or Alleman High School, Rock Island, IL. Margaret DeCook was born July 30, 1924 in East Moline, the daughter of August and Eugenie Van Osselaere. She married Albert DeJaegher June 21, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He died December 7, 2007. She had worked at the former Case-IH Plant, East Moline. She had been an active member at the former St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. She had been a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters Women's Auxiliary and Altar and Rosary Society at her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. She always looked forward to family gatherings and the holidays so she could be with her family. Survivors include daughters, Roberta (Orville) Shields, East Moline and Becky (Stuart) Smith, Bettendorf; sons, Edward (Debra) DeJaegher, Granger, IN, John DeJaegher (Bettie), Redford, MI, and David (Sue) DeJaegher, Moline, grandchildren; Joseph DeJaegher, Jennifer Hunt, Jeffrey DeJaegher, Michele DeJaegher, Kelly Fratzke, Kari Weber, Kimberly Shields, Samantha Smith, Mathew Smith, Daniel DeJaegher and Michael DeJaegher, great grandchildren; Jordan, Austin, Elle, Emily, Chloe, Jacob, Amelia, and Kathrine; special friend, Mickey DeVoss, East Moline She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Mary, brothers, Albert, Louie and Maurice.
