Funeral services for Margaret M. Furlong, 97, Moline, will be 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Ardon Cemetery, Muscatine, IA at 1:00PM. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mrs. Furlong died Wednesday, December 07, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, after a long illness. Memorials may be made to the Monsignor William Cleary Endowment Fund. Margaret McFadden was born December 30, 1907 in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Edward and Ida (Williams) McFadden. She married James J. Furlong, in September of 1941 at St. Mathias Church, Muscatine. He died in 1974. Margaret was a graduate of the former Marycrest College, Davenport and was a School Teacher in the Quad Cities and in rural Muscatine. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and AARP. She enjoyed collecting bells and cooking for her family. Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen J. and Betsy Furlong, Rockville, MD, and Stanley E. Furlong, Rock Island; four grandchildren; one great grandson; son-in-law, Robert Wheeler of DeKalb, IL, sisters and brother-in-law, Lois and Michael Lawrence, Muscatine, IA, Jean Souchek, Columbia, MO. She is preceeded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marjorie Wheeler; sisters, Lorraine McFadden, Martha Anita McFadden, Dorothy Byrne, Lucille Connell, and Mary McFadden; brother, George McFadden.
