Obituary

One week before her 101st Birthday, Margaret F. Hubbs, died Wednesday, June 15,2005, at River Park Health Care Center, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 PM Sunday, June 19th, 2005 at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 20th, at St. John's Catholic Church, Rapids City, IL. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Rapids City. The former Margaret F. Baietto was born on June 22,1904, in Gallup, New Mexico, the daughter of Louis and Frances (Ronketti) Baietto. She married Raymond D. Hubbs August 25th, 1931, in Ottawa, IL. He died October llth, 1972. They lived in East Moline for many years, and retired to Seminole, FL, in 1964. Mrs. Hubbs moved to Sterling, IL, in 1998, and subsequently to Rock Island in 2002. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, traveling, visiting family and corresponding with her many friends and relatives. Baking, playing cards, and needlework were also among her many pastimes. Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Carol Hubbs, Sterling, IL, daughter, Margie Becker, (Carl), Rock Island, and Virginia Atherton, Laguna Beach, CA, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, her sister Virginia Buckley, Moline, and sister-in-law, Mildred Baietto, DeKalb, IL. Her parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and son, Raymond, preceded her in death. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to River Park Health Care Center, Rock Island, Dr. Eden Aurelio, and Heartland Hospice, Davenport, for their kind and compassionate care.
