Margaret A. Johnson, 98, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral service will be 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Margaret was born on November 1, 1927, in Fort Dodge, IA, the daughter of Ira J. and Verle Waggoner. She married Charles L. Johnson on August 15, 1947, in Moline, he preceded her in passing in June 2010. Prior to retirement she worked at Flowers by Frederick. Margaret loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. They could be found doing puzzles, playing multiple card games – favorite was poker, and playing Dr. Mario on her Nintendo. She enjoyed sewing, making clothing, collecting buttons, and traveling with her late husband, Charles. Margaret was festive during Christmas, and decorated her house with her Santa Claus collection.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Alan) Ballard, Moline; son-in-law, Rich Cox, Colona; grandchildren, Bruce (Kelly) Cox, Nichole (Steve) Light, Jason (Bethany) Ballard, and Amanda (Keith) Kelley; 12 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Marlee Cox; and siblings, Ira Jr, Verneil, Jerry, Jason, and Jim.
