Margaret F. "Kay" Lawton, 87, Walcott, IA, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Private services will be live-streamed on Friday at 2PM by logging into http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott or to the Durant Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Kay was born on October 5, 1933 in Moline, the daughter of Alvin and Sarah (Potts) Sodeman. She married George Lawton on January 16, 1955 in Davenport, IA. He died February 6, 2013. Mrs. Lawton worked 40 years for Petersen Harned VonMaur, starting in the bridal department and retired from Von Maur Center. She was a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church assisting with the Buffalo food pantry. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. Kay was a NASCAR fan.

Survivors include her sons, George Lawton, Davenport and Steve (Starla) Lawton, East Moline, grandchildren, Brian Dennison (Paula), Douglas (Renee) Dennison, Todd Dennison, Ashley (Ben) Erwin , Meghan (Cade) Morgan, and Steven M. (Becky) Lawton, great-grandchildren; Alicia, Todd, Cai, Austin, Blair, Elliott, Graham, Hadley, Everly, Henry, Drew and two on the way, siblings, Doug Sodeman, Davenport, Ellen Miller, Walcott and Sandy Sanden, Princeton, IL and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Dennison, her parents and brothers, Jack, Eddie, George and Pete.
