Funeral services for Margaret Elizabeth Meyers, 97, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., where a Christian Wake service will be held at 6:30 PM. Mrs Meyers died July 4, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. She was born February 2, 1914 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Leona Lippens, and was the oldest of three siblings. She married Emiel J. Meyers in June, 1940. Mrs. Meyers worked at John Deere Harvester during World War II helping to manufacture aircraft components and supporting her country as one of many "Rosie the Riveters." Before her illness prevented it, she was an active member of the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church in East Moline, IL. She was a life-long Democrat. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Carol Meyers of Washington, DC; and her sister, Elsie Lippens of Kewanee, IL.
