Funeral services for Margaret "Maggie" Newbern, 75, of Coal Valley, IL, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Newbern died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, IA. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Margaret DeRoo was born July 15, 1930 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Emric and Antoinette DeRoo. She married Robert Newbern, May 5, 1967 in Moline, IL. She retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1988 after 30 years of service with AMETA. She and her husband attended New Hope Baptist Church Coal Valley, IL. She loved to dance, and taught at Arthur Murray Studio. She was an excellent gardener. Survivors include: her husband, Robert of Coal Valley, IL; step daughters and son-in-law, Cheri and Rick Brown of Aledo, IL, Kelly Jo Lehrer of Aledo, IL; grandsons, Shane Eskridge, Sean Eskridge, Cody Brown, Cory Brown; great grandson, Brody.
