Margaret Ossian, 85, Moline, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Trinity Regional Health Center, Rock Island. A memorial mass will be 1PM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. At Marge's request, her body has been donated to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Margaret was born on August 30, 1924 in Granville, IL, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Lesser) Steiner. She graduated from East Moline High School in 1942. Marge received her pilots license in the early 1940's. She married Lyle C. Ossian in 1954 and together they had 5 children. She was a pioneer, in that she was one of the first women in the Quad City area to become a licensed Real Estate Broker in the late 1960's. She had fun whether she was dancing the polka, entertaining, playing cards, traveling, or being with her loving family. Marge was a member of Short Hills Country Club, East Moline. She was an avid golfer, even getting a hole in one. Her first 9 grandchildren were girls, until recently adding 2 grandsons, making her family complete. Survivors include her children and their spouses; Paul and Jan Ossian, Moline, Leslie and Russ Kooken, Moline, Vicki and Robert Poutre Scottsdale, AZ, Jean Watson, Quincy, IL and Jon and Kerry Ossian, Moline, eleven grandchildren, brothers; Victor Steiner, Moline and Bernard (Pat) Steiner, Geneseo, and sisters; Beverly (Bill) Hart-Hemphill, AZ, and Patricia (James) Weir, Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, brothers Tony and Joseph and her sister Marie.
