Margaret Savala, 81, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services 11:00AM Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 2:30 PM. Margaret was born on July 27, 1933 in Silvis, the daughter of Manuel and Antonia (Valle) Herrera. She married Charles Savala on August 26, 1956 in Rock Island. He died August 25, 2000. In her earlier years, she had worked at Servus Rubber, Rock Island. She retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline. Survivors include her children, Anthony Savala (Theresa Laxy), Rock Island, Mary (Gary) Lehman, East Moline, and Stephanie Akers, East Moline; grandchildren, Joe (Jen), Jeremy, Tonisha (Brian), and Ashley; great grandchildren, Alexa, Isabella, Ajay, Jayce, Kennedy, Makenna, and Owen; siblings, Helen and Joe Ramirez, East Moline, Carmen and Ray Hernandez,Silvis, Delores Reyna, East Moline; Linda and Steve Verbeke, Silvis, Ann and Hank Meza, Orion, IL, Chris Herrera, Moline, IL, and Pat and Phil Mosley, East Moline.
