Margaret Y. "Vonnie" Lindstrom, 66, of Colona, passed away Friday September 14, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., in East Moline. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services (12-1) at the funeral home where a memorial fund has been established. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline with Military Honors presented by the East Moline American Legion Post 227. Vonnie was born July 23, 1952 in Moline, a daughter of Charles and Carolyn Martin. She married John E. Lindstrom on June 8, 1991 in Bettendorf. He passed away June 23, 2012. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, FaceBook, camping, singing, and especially Country music, having been a sub singer for the Sweetwater Band. Her entire family for several generations was involved in Stock Car racing at East Moline Speedway – Bomber Addition. She also enjoyed playing slots whenever she could and going to the boat. Vonnie loved football, "Go Bears."  Vonnie had an excellent memory and could always remember a person's name. She loved her family very much, and enjoyed spending time with them. Vonnie was an Army Veteran and served her country being honorably discharged in 1970.  She was a former member of The Eagles Club. Survivors include: 3 children: Dawn (Eddie Reyes) Hay of Colona; Aaron Martin of Moline and Danielle (Jason) Moody of Cantril, IA; and many other special children that she took in; numerous beloved grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Frances Martin of Ocala, FL; brother: Charles "Rusty" (Patricia) Martin of Matherville; a special uncle: Frank Martin of Colona; a special friend: Shirley Douglas of Colona and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
