Margie McIntire, 73, Rock Island, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Riverpark, East Moline. At her request, her body has been donated to scientific study. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Margie was born on May 5, 1941 in Abingdon, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Nelson) Whitney. She retired as a switchboard operator from the Rock Island Arsenal. Survivors include her children, Daryl McIntire, Muscatine, IA and Janet Trego, Rock Island, two grandchildren and siblings, Bill Whitney, Abingtdon, Shirley Whitney, Overland Park, KS, and Marilene Baughman, Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Donna Oleski and Lowell Whitney.
