Funeral services for Maria R. Cruz, 89, of Moline, IL, will be noon Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4 pm. Mrs. Cruz passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at her home.

Maria Raya was born August 24, 1933, in Puerta Del Monte, Mexico, the daughter of Jose and Aurora Raya. She married Manuel P. Cruz in 1956. He passed away September 26, 2004.

Survivors include her children, Miguel (Susan) Cruz, Citrus Heights, CA, Aurora Cruz, Moline, Manuel (Martha) Cruz, TX, Yolanda (Raul) Campos, Moline, Arcelia (Sacramento) Hernandez, TX, Guadalupe (Abraham) Sanchez, Mexico, Maria Luz (Martin) Ojedo, CA, Carmen (Antonio) Rosas, Moline, Martha (Ricardo) Martinez, Katy, TX, Jose Cruz, TX, and Dolores Cruz, Moline; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; siblings, Ana Campos, Maria De Jesus Mendez, Trinidad (Josephine) Raya, Juan (Carmen) Raya, and Ramon (Carmen) Raya.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; great grandson, Christopher Cervantes-Neely; siblings, Victoria Gallardo, Guadalupe Villagomez, Jose Raya, Carlos Raya, and Juan Raya.
