Maria Christine Zaragoza, 64, of Rock Island passed away surrounded by family on June 8, 2024.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with a Remembrance Service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the family.

Maria was born on January 1, 1960 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Jesse and Victoria (Valle) Zaragoza.  She was raised in Silvis, IL. She retired from Oscar Mayer in Davenport, Iowa.

First and foremost she was a caring woman who loved God with all her heart. She always had time to lend a listening ear to anyone who needed to talk. She loved being a mother and grandmother.  Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.   She enjoyed spending time with family, worship and studying the Bible.  She was never shy about sharing God's love to anyone who would listen.

Survivors include her daughters, Heather Zaragoza, Davenport, IA, and Tanya Gardner, Rock Island, IL.  Her grandchildren Quesean Ford, Aledo, IL, Jade Ford, East Moline, IL, Mia Matthews, Rock Island, IL, and Avianna Gardner, Rock Island, IL. Her sisters and brothers, Pamela (Carlos) Perez, Silvis, IL, Ruben Zaragoza, Silvis, IL, Raymond (Cindy) Zaragoza, Silvis, IL, Lydia French, Jefferson City, MO, and Diane Salisbury, Niles, MI, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Victoria Zaragoza, as well as several aunts and uncles, and her nephew David Perez.
