Obituary

Funeral services for Marian Penny Reddick, 86, of New Windsor, IL, will be 11 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mrs. Reddick passed away Wednesday January 24, 2024, at Cedarhurst of Moline.

Marian Kave was born January 23, 1938, in East Moline, the daughter of William and Faye (Burrell) Kave. Her dad gave her the middle name Penny because he said she was a "cute little shiny penny." She married Rodney Reddick June 3, 1967, at Silvis Baptist Church, Silvis, IL. He passed away December 26, 2008. Marian and Rodney's passion was their family farm or as Marian liked to call it "her little Ponderosa." Over the years, they hosted many family gatherings, everything from summer camping in the yard, snowmobiling, horseback riding, hay-rack rides, and bonfires to our "Country Christmas." Each gathering was filled with Rodney's silly sayings and Marian's special food that she made for each of us. Marian and Rodney went everywhere together and were always seen hand in hand. They shared a special love for each other. Marian retired from Case/IH, East Moline, in 1998. After Rodney's passing, she continued to take care of the farm until her health prevented it. She had a very big heart and was one of the sweetest, most giving, and kind person you would ever meet.

She is survived by her loving family: nephew, Doug (Sue) Van Hollebeke; great nieces, Shawn (Michael) Chaney, Sarah (Rachel) Van Hollebeke, and MacKenzie (Dakota) Claussen; foster daughter, Coco (Rick) Foreman; 3 grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Campbell, Michael (Melieah) Gonzalez, Megan (Daniel) Rogers; 5 great grandchildren, Anthony, Corey, Carter, June, Divinity Grace; sister-in-law, Cindy Kave; and several other nieces, nephews; and a special friend, John Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 6 siblings.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
