Marie Frakes, 93, of Big Island, Milan, IL, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at River Park Healthcare Center, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a prayer service will be held at 5:00PM. An additional visitation will be held 9:00-10:00AM Thursday at the Bryan Funeral Home, Hoxie AR. Funeral services for Marie will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Bryan Funeral Home. Burial will be Godwin Cemetery, Saffell, AR. A memorial fund has been established, for the Perpetual Care Fund at Godwin Cemetery. Marie Daggett was born June 8, 1914 in Saffell, AR, the daughter of Simon and Mae (Godwin) Daggett. She married Henry Frakes in May of 1928. He died July 12, 1976. She had worked as a cook and retired from the former Moline Public Hospital. Marie was known as a fabulous cook, lovingly cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening. Marie will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Frakes of Milan, O'Neal Frakes of Bradford, AR; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; sister, Nadine Mize of Coal Valley, IL.
