A huge thank you to all caregivers at Bickford Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice staff. You have all been such a blessing and we cannot say enough about how much you all have been appreciated during these last couple of years taking care of Mom battling dementia.

Marilyn Jean AmRhein was born on September 4, 1935, in Indiana. She was raised in a large family (12 brothers and sisters) of which she was the last survivor. She married Robert L. Ricke on August 4, 1956, in Greensburg, IN. Robert passed away in 1980.

Mom was a homemaker extraordinaire, devoting and sacrificing for all her children namely Kevin (Pam) Ricke, Aledo, IL, Greg (Beth) Ricke, Silvis, IL, Neal (Tina) Ricke, Greensburg, IN and Karen (Wayne) Schadt, East Moline, IL. Mom's emphasis in raising her children was doing any job the right way (her way) the first time and she never wavered from that instruction.

Mom was also involved as a room mother for our schools, East Moline Youth Baseball, United Township Booster Club and The First Baptist Church spending countless hours making quilts for the elderly as well as working in the Church's kitchen for numerous events and luncheons. She was also much informed of the activities occurring in her neighborhood due to her routine use of her front porch and the many friends and neighbors who were welcome to sit with her.

She also continued her devotion and support to her 9 grandchildren Alexandra Ricke, Jonathan (Lindsay) Ricke, Kathryn Ricke, Michael (Deanna) Ricke, Stephanie (Aaron) Dunbar, Dana (Kellie) Ricke, Jennifer Andrus, Kaitlyn and Jacob Schadt.

Mom was always delighted when anyone asked her about her "Greats". She could not recall their names but had pictures of them all and would show anyone who asked. Okay Mom, here's their names... again… Vidalia, Caroline, Graham, Elijah, Noah, Zacchiah, Josiah, Machai, Amir, Teddy, Annie, Landon and Rylan.

Rest in the arms of Jesus Mom …you will be missed.
