Funeral services for Marjorie Louise Brummitt, 88, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 2:00PM Monday at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM, one hour before the service, Monday at the church. Mrs. Brummitt died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Bickford of Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Marjorie was born March 2, 1926 in Green City, MO, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Cox Bear. She married Alva "Al" Brummitt August 26, 1945 in Pollock, MO. He died September 25, 2012. She had been a longtime member and active volunteer at Homewood Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and listening to gospel music. Survivors include her children, Melinda Wayland, Bettendorf, IA, and Sharon (Rodney) Moore, Jonesville, MI; Don (Phyllis) Brummitt Fort Madison, IA, and David (Laura) Brummitt Bettendorf; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Beene of Augusta, Kansas.
