Obituary

Funeral services for Marjorie Schnepf, 87, of Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, IL, will be 1:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mrs. Schnepf died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Moline, IL, American Diabetes Association, or the Hillcrest Nursing Home Activities Fund. Marjorie Huston was born June 7, 1921 in Savanna, IL, the daughter of Charles R. and Velta (Miller) Huston. She married John V. Schnepf June 11, 1939 in Muscatine, IA. He died March 21, 1982. She had worked as a cook over the years in various places in Illinois. She had also worked at Sables Jewelry Store, East Moline. She had always been helpful to her family. She enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Peer of Geneseo, IL, Ruth Summerford of Leesburg, GA; grandchildren, Patti Kowitz, Danny Peer, John "Val" Summerford and Elizabeth Felts; step grandchildren, Buddy, Shane, and Susan; several great grandchildren; sisters, Natalie Bizarri of Coal Valley, Mary Liston of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Donna Huston of Moline; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren, Ted Plunkett Jr., Robert "Bobby" Plunkett, sister, Vivian Groves, brothers, Kennard Huston and William Huston, sons-in-law, Donald Peer, Ted Plunkett Sr., and Emmet Summerford.
