Funeral services for Mark E. Struss, 55, of Tifton, GA, will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Hampton, IL. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Struss died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at home. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Stained Glass Fund. Mr. Struss was born January 18, 1952 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Rollin and JoAnn (Nice) Struss. He married Donna Thompson November 9, 1974 in Peoria, IL. He had worked as Director of Plant Operations at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton. Mark enjoyed cooking at working with plants. He had been a member of the Tifton Choral Society, Tifton. He loved his family especially his daughter and granddaughter. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Katharine and Michael Stuart of Whitestown, IN; granddaughter, Jordan Grace Stuart; His parents of East Moline; sisters and brother-in-law, Gail Earl of Moline, IL, Donna and Lowell Jacobsen of Altoona, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Janet Struss of Rock Island, IL; niece and nephews, David Struss and Alyssa and Kyle Jacobsen.
