Funeral services for Markos Kimionis, 79, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 6:30PM. Mr. Kimionis died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf, IA. Memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Markos was born July 24, 1928 in Greece, the son of Kousmas and Chrysoula Kimionis. He served in the Greek Army and then served in the Merchant Marines. He married Anastasia Polios. She died December 11, 1996. He owned and operated the Duck Inn Tavern, East Moline for 25 years. Survivors include: son, Jason Polios; 4 sisters all in Greece; a brother in Greece; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Phyllis Linder of Moline.
