Funeral services for Marla S. Floyd, 62, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Monday at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Floyd died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at her home. Marla Sue Marner was born January 17, 1955, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Betty Shaw Marner. She married William "Bill" Floyd September 29, 1973, in East Moline. For over 30 years she had worked as a Real Estate Legal Assistant/Probate Secretary, most recently working for McCarthy, Callas, & Feeney, Rock Island, assisting with estate liquidations of property. Marla loved watching her grandchildren grow! It was her pure joy!! She enjoyed digging in the dirt, watching her plants grow and blossom, going to auctions, game nights with her "besties", and campaigning for people she believed in. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Bill Floyd, East Moline; daughter, MaryAnn (Mike) Halpin, Rock Island; son, Dustin Cale Floyd, East Moline; grandchildren, Natalie and Will Halpin, Rock Island; mother, Betty Marner, Moline; sisters, Jane Moss, Grand Forks, ND, Kelli Marner-Seitz (Matt Seitz), Clinton, IA, LeAnn (Doug) Garrison, Fate, TX, and Lora Lea Loete, Coal Valley, IL; brothers, Brad (Sally) Marner, East Moline, and Dale (Connie) Marner, Greenville, SC; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; "bestie", Micki Hancock, and family. She was preceded in death by her father, father-in-law, and mother-in-law. Memorials may be made to The Baby Fold, Normal, IL, for two of the greatest gifts of her life! Or to someone who just needs a little help in life! Thanks to her trusted friends who encouraged Marla, you all know who you are.
