Funeral services for Marlowe J. Vyncke, 80, East Moline, are 10 AM Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, where a family rosary will be recited at 2:30PM. Marlowe died Thursday December 11, 2008 at Illini Hospital, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. Marlowe Jean Techlin was born August 7, 1928 in Moline, the daughter of Edmund and Edna (Collins) Techlin. She married Paul R. Vyncke on June 26, 1948 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Marlowe had worked as a telephone operator and as a Tupperware Manager but found her greatest joy being a Mother and homemaker. Survivors include her husband Paul, daughters and sons-in-law Carol and Larry Hultgren of Rock Island, Cindy and Bill McMullen of Moline, sons and daughters-in-law; Alan and Peggy Vyncke of Peel, AR, Bruce and Becky Vyncke of East Moline, Paul D. Vyncke of East Moline and Richard and Kristy Vyncke of Colorado Springs, CO, fourteen grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a sister Elinor Roitburd of Denver, CO. Marlowe is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bud and a daughter Lori Jean who died in 2002.
