Marshall Edward Martel, 67, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Family inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2-6 Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1PM. Memorials may be made to the family. Marshall was born April 22, 1948 in Stockton, CA, the son of Paul E. and Porfiria (Moreno) Martel. He married Pamela K Gustafson Davis on March 17, 1973 in Rock Island. They later divorced. Marshall retired in 2009 as a draftsman for City Blueprint, Moline. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Martel loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his Harley, traveling, golf and Motown music. He truly loved coaching and watching his children play baseball and softball. Survivors include his children, Melissa (David) Turner, Davenport, Nicole (Scott) Mueller, Davenport and Joshua (Tara) Martel, Moline, grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Victoria, Cody, Kamden, Taylor, Natalie and Joshua, great grandchildren, Bella, Skylar, Jaxxon and Landon and siblings, Andrew Martel, Rock Island, Daniel Martel, Orlando, FL, James Martel, Silvis, Joseph (Pat) Martel, East Moline, Stanley Martel, Denver, CO, Matthew Martel, Moline, Paul (Susan) Martel, FL, Anita (Terry) Burke, Seattle, WA and Micah Martel, New York, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donny, Robert and Rueben and a sister Denise.
