Funeral services for Marvin Robertson, 89, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Robertson died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at his home. Memorials may be made to Niabi Zoo or to Friends of the Children. Marvin was born October 16, 1923 in Minonk, IL, the son of Daniel and Clara Schleicher Robertson. He married Bonita Diehl March 27, 1942 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. She died July 30, 2010. He had been a Methods and Standards Engineer at the former International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island, where he retired after more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an animal lover, and especially enjoyed the neighbors dogs, Daisy and Bessie. Survivors include his daughters, Sandra (Jack) Resch, Moline, and Diana (Brian) Lovett, Moline; grandchildren, Cheryl (Ken) Ricca, Jackie Resch, Bill Resch, and Wanda Resch (Jeff O'Brien); 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorna (Russell) Klendworth, Flanagan, IL; sister-in-law, Lois Robertson, Moline; several nieces and nephews.
