Obituary

Marvine E. Knudtson (Marty), 82, of Rapids City, Illinois, passed away September 3, 2017. She was born October 8, 1934 in Moline, Illinois to Ralph and Sybil Breecher. She married Clarence Austin Owen Jr. on May 28, 1953. He passed away in December of 1959. She later married Lyle F. Knudtson on October 8, 1982. Lyle passed away on February 16, 2013. She spent her remaining year in Rapids City, Illinois living with her son Clarence Austin Owen III and daughter-in-law Johnna. She worked as a quality cheese inspector for Safeway (Kraft Cheese) in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for 9 years until her retirement in 1999. Before that she worked for Pathe Cheese Factory in Bangor, WI for 9 years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her children and her beloved grandchildren. She loved boating, motorcycle riding, and doing puzzles. She also loved playing bingo, watching Jeopardy, games on the computer (Mahjong was her favorite), and movies. Her favorite movie was Star Trek. She sang all the time; she could find a song for any word, and didnít care where she was or what was going on. Everyone loved her singing, because she enjoyed it so much and it would make everyone smile. Marty was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Everyone that knew her loved her. She will be missed and loved forever. Survivors include daughter Rebecca Ryan (Mike) of Longville, MN, Richard (Diane) Owen of Shawnee, OK, and Clarence (Johnna) Owen of Rapids City, IL.; 7 grandchildren, Niki, Sam, Justin, Skip, Christopher, Jolee, and Ariel; 8 great-grandchildren, Destiny, Cody, Ella, LaRae, Cameron, Brilee, Austin and Saphira; 1 great-great- grandkid, Olivia. Two step children, Kevin (Amy) Knudtson, and Kris (Claus) Krein, and 6 grandchildren; Alisa, Maddie, Hayden, Mathias, Meghann, and Kody; and many nieces and nephews. Marty was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, (Katherine Owen), her Sister (Jackie Breecher) and her Brother (Ralph Breecher).
