Mary "Mickey" A. Guthrie, 90, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Van Hoe Funeral Home with a service to follow immediately after at 12:00pm. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Mickey was born August 21, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Mary (Murray) McLean. She married Hartley "Hart" Guthrie on August 16, 1952, at Watertown Baptist Church, East Moline. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2014. Mickey retired from Lundia Myers, Inc. She enjoyed going to lunch with her friends, visiting the casino to play the penny slots, and playing BINGO. Mickey also enjoyed shopping trips to Goodwill. She loved spending time with family and friends. Mickey was the best mom and grandma anyone could ask for.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Chris (Rollie) Wilkerson, Moline, IL and Vicki (Kenny) Butler, Lynn Center, IL; grandchildren, Steve Williams, Deanna (Jason) Ebert, Shannon (Bo) Rigsby, Jamie (Greg) Hoffpauir, Jessie (Wes) Raes, Kenny (Anna) Butler Jr., Torrie (Joe) Breiby, and Michael A. Guthrie Jr.; 23 great grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hart; son, Michael A. Guthrie; and 6 siblings.
