Mary A. Betcher, 70, Silvis, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Aspen Rehab and Health, Silvis. Visitation is 4-6PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with a prayer service to be held at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of North Central Illinois. Private family committal will be in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Mary was born on December 24, 1942 in Geneseo, the daughter of Virgil and Helen (VanDeWoestyne) Betcher. Mary had worked at Skills Incorporated and later did in-home care. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing bingo and cards and working word search puzzles. Survivors include her siblings, John (Marilyn) Betcher, Mesa, AZ, Dave (Nancy) Betcher, Silvis and Pam (Doug) Leichty, Rock Island. The family would like to thank the staff at Aspen for their care, and Mary's friend and fellow Aspen resident, Deana Link for her bedside companionship during Mary's final days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James.
