Funeral services for Mary C. Botta, 95, will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 11:30-12:30 Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mrs. Botta died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Monsignor Cleary Endowment Fund / Maintenance Fund at St. Anne Catholic Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL, or The East Moline Public Library . Mary Campbell was born April 25, 1911 in Cleveland, OH, the only child of William N. and Mary Agnes (Mae) Conkle Campbell. She is a graduate of St. Mary's High School Lancaster, OH. She attended Ohio State University and Lancaster Business School. She was employed from 1942-1953 as a civilian for the US Air Force, working at Lockbourne AFB, OH, Kindley AFB, Bermuda, and Scuthorpe RAF Station, England. She retired in 1953. She married M/Sgt. Daniel E. Botta May 30, 1950 in Lancaster, OH. He died November 29, 1974. Their only child, Christopher L. Botta, born November 27, 1953 in England (USAF Hospital). He died March 13, 1973 in Moline, IL. She had been a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, Woman's Club of East Moline, IL, Friendship Force of the Quad Cities, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, East Moline Public Library Board where she served as secretary for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, travel, and crossword puzzles. Survivors include: sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose and John Fantozzi of New York. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son.
